Emily Bartscher, owner
Emily Bartscher is the owner/operator of eSPECIALly 4 You Child Care. Her handicap ranch level accessible home is where the child care services are provided. Emily graduated from the University of Sioux Falls in 2012 with her Elementary Education and Special Education degree with an endorsement in Early Childhood. She currently teaches full time in an Early Childhood Special Education. Emily specializes in birth-five year olds with disabilities.
Emily grew up in Brandon, South Dakota. Her best friend had cerebral palsy, a feeding tube, seizure disorder, and was in a wheelchair. Her friend was nonverbal and communicated through facial expressions. Emily's passion for working with and being around children with disabilities started when she herself was in early childhood. Emily's dream is to help and positively impact as many children and families as she can. She moved to Sioux Falls in 2012 and bought a handicap accessible townhouse so her friend could visit. In the summer of 2012 Emily signed for her townhouse but her friend abruptly passed away before she could come to visit. Through enduring this heart wrenching experience, Emily's desire to help children and families was perpetuated. She wanted to be able to provide a safe and caring child care experience that was non-judgmental and unbiased. She saw how important it was for parents to have time away from their chaotic lives and how hard it was to find great, quality care for their loved ones with special needs. Her goal is for parents to feel comfortable having a night to themselves, without worry, knowing their child(ren) is/are in great hands!
Emily adopted her daughter, Phoenyx, in 2016. Phoenyx has multiple disabilities and requires assistance with all daily living skills. Together, Emily and Phoenyx enjoy snuggles, dancing, and singing while playing ukulele. Phoenyx loves care night when her friends come over. It's a special, chaotic night, guarantee to make everyone smile and laugh. Their elderly pugs, Marley and Gracie, nap in a bedroom during care nights.
Kelsey Williams, assistant
Kelsey is the other caregiver and she has an extensive background in the medical/care taking field. Kelsey loves kids, cats, and chickens! She has worked many years in a nursing home and has her bachelors in education. Kelsey also has her CNA, CPR and BLS. Currently, Kelsey teaches special education in a small school district. She works with children ranging from kindergarten-eighth grade. When she is not working, she is spending time with her family- two children and her husband!
Volunteers
We have a group of dependable and consistence volunteers. We encourage volunteers as it makes our night even more fun and allows us to serve more children! High school students who have an interest in special education, or college students who wish to pursue a career with those who have disabilities are welcomed! USD Centers for Disabilities LEND program and Augustana college are two colleges we currently get our volunteers from! Reach out to Emily if you are interested in volunteering!
